about

M.H. is an American band that consists mostly of 20 year old Maxfield Háag, playing and recording most of the instruments at ... more home, though it's not uncommon to hear guest singers and musicians. He cites isolation, Southern Gothic literature, aphorism, home-recording artists and European folk music as influences. So far, "M.H" has released 6 albums since 2010's "Summer Lawn, Locust Song". less

Track Name: Carousel
I filled my mouth with wine and locusts
and I fantasized about the honey in a kiss.
Then we waltzed together in the moonlight
singin' a song about our friends who had died.

Somewhere I heard their ghosts singing
behind the dark black veil- the dark black veil of night.

And they sang:
We will be with you forever
and we will be with you again.

Then it came to me, the universe is spinning-
as a wheel spins on an arbor.
So that means every moment is a spoke-
and my will is the gear that I must turn.

...But I can't help but recall a carousel
that plays the same ole tune every night.
And I'll gladly sing, I'll gladly sing along--

We'll all sing!

We will be with you forever and we will be with you again.
Track Name: Maxfield Háag - Suitcase of Flowers
I've got a suitcase of flowers,
and you've got a head full of hours alone-
but now I'm home.

You sit down at the table
and I'm proud to know I am able
to keep it full.

O! Red wine lips and a soft kiss
Blind time the time that I missed.

I was young with a smooth face
when I first abandoned my grace for you-
all smiles beside.

And now with beard and mustache--
your hand is all that I ask now.
To hold and endow.

Warm light falls through the window
though outside the coldest wind blows.
